Odoo in a plant that manufactures
Odoo handles manufacturing orders, bills of materials and costing well. Where it breaks is on the floor: the person standing at the machine should not have to navigate an ERP to report three figures.
The ERP stops at the workshop door
The plant already has its manufacturing orders in Odoo, its bills of materials and its costs. What it does not have is how any of that connects to the people standing at a bench, in gloves or with a scanner in hand. That is where reporting goes back to paper and somebody keys it in hours later: inventory runs behind, scrap goes unrecorded, and the month is costed on last week data.

One screen with what each person is assigned and two actions: progress and closing. No Odoo account, no licence per operator, and nobody touching what is not theirs.

The shop floor reports production to Odoo without opening Odoo
It is the only one on this list aimed at the person standing at the machine. The operator signs in with a password of their own — not an Odoo account — sees their orders, reports progress and closes so the ERP consumes the materials. It does not install into Odoo: it connects, so it works alike on Online, on Odoo.sh and on-premise. And it speaks the way the plant speaks: where a factory says "bills of materials", a bakery says "recipes", and that is configuration, not programming.

What else a plant buys
None of them depends on the others or on the portal: each is bought and implemented separately.
The three environments, here too
Modules install on Odoo.sh or on your own server; if you are on Odoo Online a Millora consultant implements them with Studio, using temporary access you grant and revoke when it is done. The portal needs neither route: it lives outside the ERP, so it installs the same way in all three environments — which is to say, it does not install.
